Since 1886 visitors to Huron County have enjoyed Ball's Bridge and the Maitland River. The double span wrought iron bridge is popular with side hikers on the Maitland Trail, fishermen, snowmobilers and bikers. The historic bridge has not only served to join farmer to his field, but also to join hearts. It is a destination point for many "first dates" with locals. It is also a favorite swimming hole for grandparents with their grandchildren. What does Ball's Bridge mean to you? Did you go on your first date at the bridge? Do you dream of getting married on the bridge? Did you learn how to swim or skip stones under the bridge? Please share your stories of what Ball's Bridge means to you.
